Access to safe water and sanitation is a serious problem for orphans, other vulnerable children and their families. This problem is at the heart of health and survival, both for children and their parents. Various measures must be taken to improve access to and use of drinking water: training of young people and children on the importance of environmental protection and the use of water, protection of wetlands, tree planting and erosion control.
